The Bowling Green Falcons travel to Ohio Wednesday night to take on the Kent State Golden Flashes in MAC football. Bowling Green comes into this matchup at 5-4 on the season and 3-2 in conference play. The Golden Flashes of Kent State are just 1-8 on the season and are winless in the conference at 0-5.

After losing each of their first two conference games, the Falcons have reeled off three straight conference wins including last week's 24-21 win over Ball State. Bowling Green and Ball State exchanged touchdowns all game before kicker Alan Anaya booted a 22-yard field goal with 3:14 left. Ball State missed their own field goal attempt as time expired to give the win to the Falcons.

“I am excited to get our first MACtion win and glad to be 1-0 in November,” Bowling Green head coach Scot Loeffler said after the game. “We have to find a way to get our second win of November. That is our mindset. We aren't going to worry about the past. We aren't going to worry about the future. We are going to worry about the now. We are going to make sure we do everything in our power to give ourselves a chance to win. I am happy with the win tonight but this game is over and it's time to move on to the next.”

Quarterback Connor Bazelak went 13-of-21 for 128 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. Running back Terion Stewart had a solid day as well with 92 yards and a touchdown as part of the win. Bowling Green had 281 yards of total offense in the win. Bowling Green had just 13 first downs in the game and went 4-of-13 in third down conversions.

On the defensive side of the ball, Bowling Green allowed 283 yards of total offense in the game including 217 yards on the ground. The Falcons' defense allowed Ball State to convert on 8-of-15 third down attempts and had three sacks in the game.

Bowling Green hopes to make it four straight wins in conference play and qualify for a bowl game with a win. They are just 129th in the nation in total offense this season. They are 92nd rushing the football and just 129th through the air. On third downs, they are ranked just 115th in converting them into first downs while in the red zone, the Falcons are ranked 71st in the country. Defensively, BGU is 22nd in total defense. The Falcons are 72nd against the run and an impressive 8th against the pass. They have had trouble getting off the field, ranking 110th in the nation in third down defense. BGU is 54th in red zone defense.
