The Boston Bruins face the Dallas Stars with both teams looking to build off of great starts to the season. The Bruins have a 9-1-1 record which is the best in the Eastern Conference. The Stars have a 7-2-1 record and are in first place in the Central Division. Both teams look to remain near the top of their divisions and the upcoming game should be a great one.

The Bruins are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.18 goals per game. David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand have scored 14 goals and 12 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Charlie Coyle, Pavel Zacha, and James van Riemsdyk have combined for 10 goals and 13 assists while Matthew Poitras, Jake DeBrusk, and James van Riemsdyk have added seven goals and eight assists to the backend of the forward unit, making the Bruins offense tough to stop.

The offense has stepped up but the defense has been one of the best in the NHL, allowing only 1.91 goals per game with only 10 goals in the last four games. Derek Forbort and Brandon Carlo have combined for 1.7 defensive point shares and 40 blocked shots while Hampus Lindholm and Kevin Shattenkirk have combined for 1.3 defensive point shares to give the Bruins two great defensive pairings. In addit ion, goaltender Jeremy Swayman has stepped up with a .954 save percentage and a 1.38 goals-against average on 151 shots with 7.4 goals saved above average.
