The Sabres got off to a rough start but are looking to turn things around with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.20 goals per game. Tage Thompson and Jeff Skinner have scored 10 goals and nine assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has been great as well. Casey Mittelstadt, Dylan Cozens, and Alex Tuch have combined for seven goals and 16 assists while defensemen Rasmus Dahlin and Owen Power have added three goals and 12 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has also stepped up, allowing only 2.90 goals per game. Owen Power and Henri Jokiharju have combined for 1.9 defensive point shares and 30 blocked shots while Rasmus Dahlin and Mattias Samuelsson have combined for 1.1 defensive point shares to give the Sabres two reliable defensive pairings. In addition, goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen has stepped up with a .926 save percentage and a 2.60 goals-against average on 122 shots with 2.4 goals saved above average.
