The Philadelphia Flyers face the Buffalo Sabres with both teams looking to improve on rough starts to the season. The Flyers are having a rough season despite their offense stepping up and scoring 3.20 goals per game. Travis Konecny, Sean Couturier, and Cam Atkinson have scored 16 goals and 12 assists but the rest of the offense has stepped up as well. Joel Farabee, Owen Tippett, and Bobby Brink have combined for nine goals and 10 assists while defensemen Travis Sanheim and Sean Walker have added three goals and 11 assists from the point to help open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.30 goals per game including 15 goals in the last three games. Yegor Zamula and Nick Seeler have combined for 1.3 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease. The bright spot has been the play of goaltender Carter Hart who has a .913 save percentage and a 2.52 goals-against average on 208 shots w ith 1.6 goals saved above average.
