Oregon State Beavers (1-0) vs. Fresno State Bulldogs (1-0)

The Oregon State Beavers head to Bulldog Stadium in Fresno, California, to take on the Fresno State Bulldogs in Week 2 of the 2022 college football season. These two schools meet for the first time since 2003, and the Bulldogs have gone 2-1 straight up and ATS in their previous three encounters with the Beavers.

The bookies expect to see a tight clash, setting the Bulldogs as 1-point home favorites. Oregon State sits at -105 moneyline odds, while the totals are listed at 61.5 points.

The Oregon State Beavers had a tough matchup at the start of the new season. They defeated Boise State 34-17 as slight 1.5-point home favorites, dominating the Broncos from start to finish. The Beavers had a 24-0 lead at halftime and finished the game with 470 total yards. On the other side of the ball, Oregon State held its rivals to 311 total yards while forcing a thumping five turnovers.

“Defensively, really pleased with the effort, physicality on both sides of the ball, and tackling and running and playing with energy,” Oregon State head coach Jonathan Smith said.

Junior QB Chance Nolan tossed for 251 yards and a couple of scores and picks against Boise State. He also had four carries for 28 yards. Nolan enjoyed a solid 2021 season (2,677 yards, 19 TD, 10 Int) and will look to improve this time around. He can count on a few talented playmakers including junior TE Luke Musgrave, who posted six catches for 89 yards and a TD in Week 1.

Last year, the Beavers went 7-6 and made it to the bowl season for the first time since 2013. They were scoring 31.2 points per game (44th in the country) while surrendering 25.8 in a return (61st).
