They beat the Jets in the season opener and posted a notable road win against the Sabres in their two victories. Calgary lost by 3-1 score against the Rangers on Tuesday and were dealt a 3-0 home loss by the Blues on Thursday to dip to 2-5-1.

Elias Lindholm has been producing in the squad's poor start. The 28-year-old center has netted two goals along with four assists on the season but has been held pointless in two straight games. Lindholm had just one assist in three meetings against the Oilers last season.

Nazem Kadri is struggling. The 33-year-old center is early in a huge contract he signed with Calgary last season. He posted 56 points in a down year last season. Kadri only has one point on the sea son and has an abysmal -8 rating. Noah Hanafin logs more ice time than any other Flames player, averaging 23 minutes of ice. The veteran blueliner has collected four points on the year.

Jacob Markstrom is expected to guard the cage in this one. The veteran netminder was shaky last season but has enjoyed several outstanding seasons. Markstrom has been mediocre, issuing a 2.68 GAA and a .906 save % to go with a 1-4-1 record. Markstrom went 0-2 against the Oilers last season.
