Washington struggled at home against Arizona State last week but held on for an eight-point win. The Huskies lost their mojo early in the game and found it difficult to get going, as turnovers plagued them (four TOs). The Sun Devils, who had lost six straight games, held Heisman-contending QB Michael Pennix Jr. to 27-for-42 passing and two interceptions.

All of that hard work was wasted, however, when junior QB Trenton Bourguet was intercepted by Washington safety Mishael Powell, who turned the other way and scored an 89-yard touchdown. While simultaneously relieving and thrilling, there's no denying that the Dawgs look like vulnerable pups.

The Huskies are led by Pennix Jr., who leads the nation in total offense and passing yards per game. The dual-threat signal-caller has passed for over 2,500 yards with a 20:5 TD:INT ratio. His top receiving targets are j unior WR Rome Odunze (45 receptions for 818 yards and six TDs) and sophomore WR Ja'Lynn Polk (41 receptions for 688 yards and five TDs). The Washington ground game is paced by junior RB Dillon Johnson (69 receptions for 346 yards and five TDs).

UW scores 40.1 points per game (8th) and averages 507.1 total yards (4th), including 403.3 passing yards (1st) and 103.9 rushing yards (119th). It converts 44.2 percent of its third-down attempts (26th) and scores on 86.1 percent of its red zone trips (50th).

The Huskies' defense surrenders 18.9 points (23rd) and 386.7 total yards (86th) per game, including 250.0 passing yards (108th) and 136.7 rushing yards (64th). They have accumulated seven sacks and nine interceptions this season. Washington's opponents have converted 42.4 percent of their third downs (93rd) and scored on 72.7 percent of their red zone trips (17th). UW is 24th in stop rate (71.8%), the percentage of a defense’s drives that end in punts, turnovers, or a turnover on downs.
