On Saturday, the Marshall Thundering Herd will travel to South Carolina for a Sun Belt conference clash with the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. Kickoff from Brooks Stadium is at 6:00 p.m. ET.

Marshall (4-3 SU, 2-5 ATS, 4-3 O/U) lost 20-9 to James Madison last week. It is 1-2 in conference play this season.

Coastal Carolina (4-3 SU, 5-2 ATS, 1-6 O/U) beat Arkansas State 27-17 last Saturday. It is 2-2 in conference competition in 2023.

The Thundering Herd are four-point spread favorites and the game total is 45.0 points. Last season, Coastal beat Marshall 24-13.

Thundering Herd: WR Caleb McMillan, RB Rasheen Ali, and OL Ayden Conley are questionable to play.

Chanticleers: WR Tyson Mobley is out and QB Grayson McCall is doubtful (concussion).

Marshall couldn't get its offense in gear last week versus James Madison, gaining just 169 total yards. The Thundering Herd, who didn't score an offensive point until the fourth quarter, were held to minus four rushing yards on 32 carries. The Dukes rushed for 131 yards and passed for another 274, but did most of their scoring in the second half.

Sophomore quarterback Cam Fancher paces Marshall with 1,679 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and six interceptions. He has also rushed for 130 yards and two TDs. Fancher's top receiving threat is sophomore WR Caleb Cooms (24 receptions for 208 yards and two scores), although eight other Herd pass-catchers have roughly 140-plus receiving yards. Junior running back Rasheen Ali leads Marshall's rushing attack (124 carries for 641 yards and 11 TDs).

The Thundering Herd sco re 27.3 points per game (75th) and average 384.9 total yards (74th), including 251.7 passing yards (46th) and 133.1 rushing yards (95th). They convert 33.7 percent of their third-down attempts (99th) and score on 80.9 percent of their visits to the red zone (82nd).
