The Colorado Avalanche (6-0-0, 12 points, 1st Central) play the second game of a three-game road trip on Thursday when paying a visit to the Pittsburgh Penguins (2-4-0, 4 points, 7th Metropolitan). Colorado is off to an excellent start with six consecutive victories to open this season following a 7-4 win Tuesday night over the New York Islanders. Pittsburgh is struggling as the Penguins have lost three straight following a 4-1 setback at the hands of the Dallas Stars on Tuesday.
