The Georgia State Panthers (6-1, 3-1 Sun Belt) will be going for their third consecutive win when they face the Georgia Southern Eagles (5-2, 2-1 Sun Belt) on Thursday night. The game will be played at Allen E. Paulson Stadium and it is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM. ET.

The Panthers are coming off a 20-17 win over Louisiana as three-point underdogs. The Eagles are coming off a 38-28 win over Louisiana Monroe as 16.5-point favorites.

Georgia State is 6-3 in its last nine games against Georgia Southern.

The Panthers became bowl-eligible after picking up a three-point win over the Ragin’ Cajuns who were unable to complete their second-half rally. With a postseason spot secure, they will try to keep their conference title hopes alive with a win over the Eagles, which will give them their seventh win in their last eight games.

Georgia State is averaging 30.9 points per game. They are throwing for 233.6 yards and rushing for 177 yards per game.

Darren Grainger completed 77 percent of his passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns in the win over the Ragin’ Cajuns. Marcus Carroll had 26 carries for 110 yards, while Tailique Williams had six catches for 81 yards.

Georgia State has played well defensively, giving up 22.9 points per game. They gave up 17 points in their last game and will need a similar effort if they want to win this game.
