A pair of teams from Conference USA take the field in search of a victory as they battle down in the bayou. The New Mexico State Aggies are on the road as they make the trip east to face the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Tuesday night. New Mexico State took down UTEP 28-7 on the road in their previous contest Wednesday night, covering the line as a 2.5-point favorite. Louisiana Tech comes in off a bye last week: they fell 31-23 at Middle Tennessee in their previous game October 10, failing to cover the line as a three-point underdog. In the all-time series between the programs, the Bulldogs own an 8-4 advantage and have won the last six meetings. That includes a 28-14 road win in the most recent matchup on October 28, 2012.

New Mexico State rung up their third straight victory as they took care of business against UTEP on the road Wednesday night. The Aggies improved to 5-3 on the season and stand third in Conference USA with a 3-1 mark in conference play on the year. Against UTEP, New Mexico State led 7-0 after the opening quarter and was even at seven at the half before taking control of the game. The Aggies went 69 yards in five plays on their first drive of the second half to take a 14-7 lead and led the rest of the way. New Mexico State outscored UTEP 21-0 in the second half en route to the triumph. The Aggies rolled up a 439-304 edge in total offense, piled up 23 first downs while allowing 16 and held a 30:17 to 29:43 margin in time of possession. Neither team committed a turnover in the contest.

In 2023, the Aggies are 63rd in the nation in passing offense with 237.5 yards per game while they are 16th in rushing offense with 203.4 yards per contest. New Mexico State stands 62nd in the FBS in scoring offense as they put up an average of 29.8 points per game while they are 46th in scoring defense by allowing 21.1 points per contest. Johnathan Brady (team high 21 receptions, team-high 355 yards, three TD), Jordin Parker (four catches, 194 yards, three TD), Trent Hudson (15 catches, 311 yards, five TD ), Stowers (14 grabs, 161 yards), Bryce Childress (three catches, 111 yards, TD) and Chris Bellamy (12 grabs, 191 yards, TD) are each over the century mark in receiving yards. Ethan Albertson is 28 of 29 on extra point attempts and 10 of 14 on field goal attempts with a long of 47 this season.
