The New Mexico State Aggies (4-3, Indep.) are on the road Wednesday, paying a visit to the Lone Star State to play a Conference-USA showdown with the UTEP Miners (2-5, 1-2 C-USA). New Mexico State defeated Sam Houston State 27-13 this past Wednesday with quarterback Diego Pavia passing for two touchdowns and rushing for one. New Mexico State has won two straight and three of the last four. UTEP defeated FIU 27-14 this past Wednesday snapping a four-game losing streak. Cade McConnell, in his first collegiate start, threw two touchdown passes for the Miners. New Mexico does not have any players on its injury report. UTEP will play without RB Aaron Dumas, TE Judah Ezinwa and CB Trez Moore while four others are questionable including the top two QBs Gavin Hardison and Jake McNamara. New Mexico State has a solid offense that is averaging 30.0 points per game placing it 60th in the nation and the Aggies gain an average of 440 yards per game which is 34th in the country. The catalyst on offense for New Mexico State is quarterback Diego Pavia who has 1,650 yards passing with four touchdowns and five interceptions and is the leading rusher for the team with 429 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground.
