It’s a battle of Big 12 teams on the gridiron as a pair of teams collide in the Sooner State. The Kansas State Wildcats are on the road as they make the trip to face the Oklahoma State Cowboys Friday night. Kansas State rolls in off a bye week last week. The Wildcats defeated UCF 44-31 at home in their previous game September 23, covering the line as a six-point favorite in the process. Oklahoma State was off last week as well: they were beaten 34-27 on the road by Iowa State on the road back on September 23, failing to cover as a 3.5-point underdog. In the all-time series between the teams, the Cowboys own a 42-27 advantage but it was the Wildcats steamrolling their way to a 48-0 home triumph in the most recent matchup on October 29, 2022.

Kansas State bounced back from a last-second loss to Missouri as they took care of business against UCF at home in their previous game. The Wildcats improved to 3-1 on the season and are 1-0 in Big 12 play entering this contest as they seek a second straight win over the Cowboys. Against UCF, Kansas State led 7-0 early, trailed 10-7 after the opening quarter and led 21-17 at the half. After giving up a touchdown in the opening 80 seconds of the second half to trail 24-21, the Wildcats scored 23 unanswered points to take control of the contest, keeping UCF off the board again until only three seconds remained in the game. Kansas State rolled up a 536-407 edge in total offense, picked up 32 first downs while allowing 19 and owned a 34:27 to 25:33 edge in time of possession. The Wildcats committed only one turnover while forcing a pair in the victory.

The Wildcats enter this game 29th in the nation in passing offense as they average 283.8 yards per game while they are 25th in rushing offense with 198.5 yards per contest. Kansas State is 14th in the FBS in scoring offense with an average of 39.5 points per contest while they are a solid 31st in scoring defense by surrendering 18.5 points per game. Will Howard is 91 of 139 passing for 1,072 yards with eight touchdowns against four interceptions while ranking third with 123 rushing yards and five scores. Chris Tennant is 19 of 20 on extra point attempts and four of six on field goal tries with a long of 51 this season. Leyton Simmering hit his lone extra point attempt while not attempting a field goal this season.
