Toronto Blue Jays vs. Baltimore Orioles Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 9-6-2022

The Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles get set for game three of their four game set in a crucial AL East showdown on Tuesday night. The two teams are in a battle for one of the three wildcard spots in the American League and both trail first place New York. The pitching matchup for Tuesday night's game will be righty Mitch White (1-5, 4.67) of the Jays taking on fellow righty Kyle Bradish (3-5, 5.17) of the Orioles. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm EST.

The Blue Jays are making their September push after a season full of inconsistent play. Coming into Monday's doubleheader, the Blue Jays had won three-straight games over the weekend in a sweep of the Pirates in Pittsburgh. In game one, the Jays banged out 14 hits and Maryland native Kevin Gausman pitched 6.2 innings in front of his friends and family to pick up his 11th win of the season. In game two, the Blue Jays doubled up the O's in an 8-4 win. Bo Bichette went three for five with three home runs and five RBI to lead the Jays to the win.

The Jays now have won five-straight games and are just a 1/2 game in back of Tampa for second place in the AL East and only 5.5 games behind the first-place Yankees. They are averaging over five runs per game in their past nine games and are now 29-24 against the AL East Division. On the mound on Tuesday night will be former Dodger Mitch White. White is 0-3 in his five starts with the Blue Jays with an ERA of 7.04. He has given up 32 hits in 23 innings and appears to be having a difficult time adjusting to the American League. He has not faced Baltimore this season and is working on six days rest.
