The Louisville Cardinals (4-0, 2-2 ATS, 2-1-1 O/U) battle the NC State Wolfpack (3-1, 0-4 ATS, 1-3 O/U) in an ACC clash on Friday evening. The Cardinals remained undefeated after a home win against Boston College. The Wolfpack recorded a road win against NC State in their previous bout. Louisville posted a 25-10 home win against NC State last season.
The Louisville Cardinals remain undefeated. They beat Georgia Tech 39-34 in their opener and also beat Indiana of the Big Ten in their third victory. The Cardinals were 14-point favorites in a convincing 56-28 home win against Boston College last week to remain unbeaten. They have covered the spread in two of their four decisions on the season.
Jack Plummer posted his best performance of the season at Boston College, recording 388 passing yards and five touchdowns. The senior QB has the ability to produce big numbers but the issue has been his accuracy and bad choices on certain plays. Plummer has 1120 passing yards with 10 touchdowns but has chucked four picks.
Louisville has an outstanding RB in Jawhar Jordan. The junior BR has accrued at least 100 rushing yards in three consecutive games including 134 last week. Jordan has posted 478 rushing yards on a stellar average of 9.6 yards per rush. Jamari Thrash continues to be targeted heavily. The junior was one of the best WRs in the Sun Belt last year. He posted 71 yards against Boston College and already has 400 receiving yards this season. The Louisville offense is among the best in the ACC. They rank fifth in total yards per game and eighth in points per play.

The Cardinals defense isn’t quite as good as the offense. They contained a weak Indiana offense in week three but conceded 427 total yards against Boston College last week. They have now squandered at least 28 points in two of four decisions. The unit is having trouble against the pass, standing 96th in pass defense while the rush defense has been solid, coming in at 47th.
Louisville is scoring an average of 43 points, marking them ninth. The defense is conceding an average of 19 points, placing them 42nd.
