Kent State Golden Flashes (1-2) vs. Fresno State Bulldogs (3-0)

The Kent State Golden Flashes head to Bulldog Stadium in Fresno, California, on Saturday night to face off against the Fresno State Bulldogs in Week 4 of the 2023 college football season. These two schools have never met before, so we bring you the best Kent State vs. Fresno State betting pick and odds.

The Golden Flashes are listed as 27.5-point road underdogs. They sit at +1500 moneyline odds, while the totals opened at 51.5 points and quickly moved to 49.0.

The Kent State Golden Flashes (1-2; 2-1 ATS) have struggled through the first two weeks of the new season, suffering a 56-6 defeat at UCF and a 28-6 loss at Arkansas. They bounced back at home, defeating Central Connecticut 38-10 as 21.5-point favorites in Week 3.

The Golden Flashes dominated the Blue Devils from start to finish. Kent State had a 38-0 lead at the start of the fourth quarter, and the Golden Flashes outgained their rivals 467-153 in total yards.

“It's a special moment,” Kent State first-year head coach Kenni Burns said. “I'm not going to underplay that. You work so hard to be a head coach, and in this moment, to get the win and be with that group of guys, I love those kids, man. I can't say that enough. They didn't pick me. I picked them, and they work so hard.”

Kent State racked up 295 yards on 54 carries last week. Sophomore running back Gavin Garcia led the charge with 21 totes for 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while senior RB Jaylen Thomas had seven carries for 70 yards and a touchdown. Junior signal-caller Michael Alaimo went 12-of-16 for 172 yards, a TD, and an interception, and sophomore wideout Trell Harris caught three passes for 94 yards and a TD.

Alaimo, a transfer from Purdue, has tossed for 491 yards, a touchdown, and three interceptions so far this term. The Golden Flashes need to get things going on the ground after posting 138.3 rushing yards per game and 3.3 per carry through the first three weeks of the season.
