The New York Yankees (74-73, 71-76 RL, 66-74-7 O/U) collide with the Pittsburgh Pirates (69-78,74-73 RL, 79-64-4 O/U) in the second of a three-game series on Saturday evening. The Yankees have yet to name a pitcher. The Pirates will reply with Luis Ortiz. The Yankees posted a 3-1 record against the Pirates last season.

The Yankees have yet to announce a pitcher for this game. Luke Weaver is a candidate. Weaver was picked up by the squad earlier this week. The veteran was horrible with the Reds this season, posting a 6.77 ERA and a 1.61 WHIP accompanied by a 2-5 record in 110.1 innings. He squandered eight runs in 9.2 innings against the Pirates this season and has a subpar 4.53 ERA and a 2-3 record in 45.2 career innings against the Pirates.

The Yankees are playing great this month. They have won four of their last five series and there was a notable difference in performance after calling up several of the prospects. They swept the Astros earlier this month and just won three of four road games against the Red Sox. The Yankees are 6-4 in their last ten decisions.

Giancarlo Stanton has collected six RBIs and a .709 OPS this month. The 33-year-old slugger has not been able to produce with any consistency this season, bashing 23 homers with 57 RBIs and a mediocre .716 OPS. Stanton has 26 RBIs and a stellar .960 OPS in 42 games against the Pirates.

New York is averaging 4.20 runs per game, marking them 23rd. The pitching is solid, posting a 3.97 team ERA, good for ninth.
