The Arizona Diamondbacks (63-68) host the Milwaukee Brewers (69-62) for the final game of a four-game series Sept. 4. Arizona won the first two meetings of the season on Thursday and Friday. They'll meet again for three games in Milwaukee to close out the season.
Jason Alexander (2-1, 4.97 ERA) is the starting pitcher for Milwaukee. Alexander started once in five appearances in August with a 2.77 ERA over 13 innings. In that one start on Aug. 30, he allowed just three hits and one run in five innings at home against Pittsburgh.
Zac Gallen (10-2, 2.53 ERA) gets the starting nod for Arizona. Gallen has been excellent this season, but he was near-perfect in August. Gallen went 5-0 with a 0.68 ERA for the month by allowing just three runs, 20 hits and 10 walks in 40 innings. He struck out 44 over that time.
