The Brewers have been unable to find consistent success since then, sitting just seven games above .500 heading into Saturday’s game. They won two out of three games against Pittsburgh earlier this week before losing the first two games of this series. Milwaukee is on a seven-game road trip that concludes with three games in Colorado next week. The Brewers are 7.5 games back of St. Louis in the NL Central and are now 3.5 games back of Philadelphia for the final NL Wild Card spot.

They have struggled with consistency at the plate, ranked No. 22 in team batting average (.236). Left fielder Christian Yelich leads the way with 121 hits, while outfielder Andrew McCutchen has 105 base knocks. First baseman Rowdy Tellez has hit a team-high 27 home runs. They will be facing an Arizona pitching staff that is No. 22 with an ERA of 4.21. Right-handed pitcher Jason Alexander is expected to be on the mound for Milwaukee on Sunday. He allowed one earned run on three hits and a walk across five innings against Pittsburgh on Tuesday. Alexander (2-1, 4.97 ERA) has been splitting time between the bullpen and the minors, but he will make another start ahead of Adrian Houser.
