Scottie Scheffler will have at least a two-stroke head start on everybody else in the field when the FedEx Cup Tour Championship gets underway Thursday at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. For Scheffler, this means he has the best chance in the 30-man field of winning the $18 million bonus that serves as the first prize. For golf bettors, this means you'll get a head start at winning if you use one or more of the Tour Championship betting promos & bonuses that will be detailed shortly.
Scheffler, for the record, will start at 10-under-par when the 72-hole event begins. It's the second year in a row he has entered the Tour Championship as the top seed. His closest pursuers initially will be Viktor Hovland, who shot a final-round 61 to capture last week's BMW Championship, and defending-champion Rory McIlroy. Hovland will start at 8-under while McIlroy will be at 7-under.
The seeds are determined by the number of FedEx Cup points earned throughout this season. Here's the rest of the top 10: Masters champ Jon Rahm (-6), Lucas Glover (-5), Max Homa (-4), Patrick Cantlay (-4), British Open champ Brian Harman (-4), U.S. Open champ Wyndham Clark (-4) and Matthew Fitzpatrick (-4).
There's a grand total of $75 million in bonuses available this week. Second place earns $6.5 million, and the bonus goes down slightly for each place. The 10th-place finisher will be the last one to earn a $1 million bonus while the last-place finisher will be consoled with a $500,000 bonus.
