Utah at Florida – 9/3/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Utah Utes will play the Florida Gators in a non-conference game at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Saturday night.

The Utah Utes went 10-4 last season and ended the season as Pac-12 Champs with a trip to the Rose Bowl. Utah defeated Oregon in the PAC-12 Title game by a score of 38-10, but ended up losing to Ohio State in the Rose Bowl by a score of 48-45. Utah had a great season in 2021 and is poised to have another great season this year. The Utah offense is returning a good amount of starters from last year and should be one of the best offenses in the PAC-12. The Utah offense is led by Cameron Rising, who beat out Charlie Brewer for the starting job last season and never looked back. Defensively, Utah lost a few pieces, but should still have one of the better units in the conference.

The Florida Gators were 6-7 last year and ended the season with a loss to UCF in the Gasparilla Bowl by a score of 29-17. Florida started last season 3-1, with the only loss being against Alabama by two points. After that, the Gators went 3-6 to end the year and did not look sharp. Florida has a new head coach this season, Billy Napier, from Louisiana. Napier built a fantastic program at Louisiana and will look to start off on the right foot with Florida in this game. Offensively, last year’s Florida team wasn’t terrible in total yards, but struggled to finish with touchdowns. This year’s Gator offense should be good and will be led by Anthony Richardson at quarterback. Defensively, Florida wasn’t very good last year and lost a lot of production to either graduation or transfers.
