The Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Dodgers continue their weekend series in Los Angeles on Saturday in an NL West Division showdown. The Rockies are in last place in the division and heading for a rebuild after trading away a couple of key regulars at the deadline. The Dodgers are leading the way in the NL West Division and gearing up for another deep playoff run. The pitching matchup on Saturday will feature the Rockies' Peter Lambert (2-3, 5.57) taking on the Dodgers' Tony Gonsolin (7-4, 4.42). The first pitch is scheduled for 9:10 PM EST.

The Colorado Rockies are returning to the drawing board after another lost season here in 2023. The team parted ways with two regulars at the trade deadline when they traded away first baseman C.J. Cron and outfielder Randal Grichuk to the Angels for prospects. The Rockies are once again in last place and will likely spend the rest of the season evaluating their current roster as they prepare for 2024. Prior to this series in Los Angeles, the Rockies dropped two of three games to the Brewers in Milwaukee. The Rockies dropped the opener on Thursday night 2-1 as their depleted lineup continued to struggle.

The Rockies will hand the ball to converted reliever Peter Lambert in game three of the series at Dodger Stadium. Lambert is 2-3 in 19 appearances including five starts this season. Lambert has allowed 55 hits in 53.1 innings pitched this season with an ERA of 5.57. Lambert is 1-2 in his last five appearances, all starts. He has allowed 16 hits in 22 innings pitched with an ERA of 3.68 in that time.
