It's not often we see a reliever successfully transition into a starting pitcher midseason, but that's exactly what Spencer Strider has accomplished for the Braves. After posting a 2.22 ERA (2.71 xFIP) in 24.1 relief innings, Strider has pitched to a 3.06 ERA (2.49 xFIP) across his 16 starts.
And perhaps even more incredulously, the flamethrower has maintained his prolific strikeout rate, no matter the role. His 36.1% K% is second only to Jacob deGrom among starters who've thrown at least 30 innings. Strider has eclipsed this line in six of his eight home starts (pitching to a 2.05 ERA).
