The Toronto Blue Jays and the Baltimore Orioles will play the third and final game of their three-game series on Thursday afternoon in Baltimore. The two teams are jockeying for position behind the first-place Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East Division. The pitching matchup on Friday will be Blue Jays' lefty Yusei Kikuchi (6-2, 4.34) taking on Orioles' righty Tyler Wells (5-2, 3.24). The first pitch is scheduled for 1:05 PM EST.

The Toronto Blue Jays entered this series in fourth place in the AL East but with a chance to gain some ground on the second-place Orioles with a strong showing. Things did not go according to plan in game one on Tuesday night as the Blue Jays were trounced 11-6 after allowing Blue Jays' pitching allowed 17 hits in the game. On Wednesday, Jose Berrios turned in an outstanding performance and the Jays knotted the series at a game apiece with a 3-1 win. Berrios went seven innings and allowed three hits without a run while striking out five to pick up his 7th win of the season.

The Blue Jays will hand the ball to left-hander Yusei Kikuchi in the series finale on Thursday. Kikuchi is 6-2 in 13 starts, including three quality starts this season. He has a K/9 rate of 8.7, a WHIP of 1.34 and an ERA of 4.34. On the road this season, Kikuchi is 3-1 in seven starts including two quality starts. Kikuchi has a K/9 rate of 7.3 on the road, his WHIP rises slightly to 1.39 and his ERA jumps to an even 5.00. Kikuchi lost his only appearance against the Orioles this season, going 4.2 innings while allowing three hits and three runs in a 6-2 loss.
