Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Detroit Tigers Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 6-11-2023

The Arizona Diamondbacks (39-25, 39-25 RL, 30-31-3 O/U) battle the Detroit Tigers (26-36, 32-30 RL, 30-30-2 O/U) in an interleague clash late Sunday morning. The Diamondbacks will be sending Zac Gallen to the hill. The Tigers will reply with Joey Wentz. The Diamondbacks posted an 11-5 win on Friday and a 5-0 win on Saturday.

Zac Gallen will take the mound to conclude the series. Gallen was solid again in his previous start, conceding three runs (two earned) in six innings against the Braves, resulting in a no-decision in a game the D-Backs lost. The veteran right-hander was quietly one of the best pitchers last year and this season has been no different, sporting a dazzling 2.75 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP accompanied by a 7-1 record in 78.2 innings pitched. Gallen has 88 strikeouts. This is his first meeting against the Tigers.

Arizona continues to excel. They won the opening two games of the road series against the Nationals this week with the third game being postponed on Thursday. The Diamondbacks are one of the most surprising teams in the big leagues and continue to hold a lead ahead of the Dodgers. They stand at 8-2 in their last ten decisions.

Ketel Marte has delivered four RBIs so far this month. The 29-year-old second baseman usually bats at the top of the order. He now has nine homers with 25 RBIs and an .822 OPS on the year. Marte has recorded just two RBIs in ten career games against the Tigers. He went 0 for 3 in Friday's win.

Arizona is averaging a remarkable 5.10 runs per game, good for fifth. The pitching staff has recorded a 4.29 team ERA, placing them 19th.
