Miami Marlins vs. Chicago White Sox Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 6-11-2023

The Miami Marlins (35-29, 30-34 RL, 28-33-3 O/U) meet with the Chicago White Sox (29-36, 33-32 RL, 31-31-3 O/U) in the last of a three-game interleague series on Sunday afternoon. The Marlins will send Braxton Garrett to the hill. The White Sox will counter with Lucas Giolito. The White Sox recorded a 2-1 win on Friday.

The Marlins will have Braxton Garrett on the mound to conclude the series. Garrett wasn’t sharp in his previous start, conceding four runs in five innings against the Royals, and was able to come away with the win. The young lefty has been solid, limiting his opponent to two or fewer runs in four of his last five outings, and has improved his ERA to 4.47 along with a 1.30 WHIP and a 2-2 record in 58.1 innings. This marks his first career meeting against the White Sox.

Miami has been one of the hotter teams in the big leagues in recent weeks, taking advantage of an easy schedule. They have won three of their last four series including sweeps against the Athletics and Royals to remain 4.5 games back of the Braves and currently stand in a Wildcard spot. The Fish swept the Angels in their previous road series and are two games below the .500 mark on the road.

Jorge Soler has cooled down at the plate this month, recording just one RBI, but has been the Marlins' best run producer. The veteran DH has launched 17 bombs complemented by 36 RBIs and an .842 OPS on the season. Soler went 0 for 3 with a walk in Friday's loss. Jazz Chisholm Jr. is on the IL.

Miami is clicking at the plate and is now averaging 3.98 runs per game, ranking them 26th. The pitching staff has amassed a 4.17 team ERA, placing them 15th.
