The Cincinnati Reds (29-34, 37-26 RL, 35-28 O/U) will battle the St. Louis Cardinals (26-37, 27-36 RL, 29-32-2 O/U) in the second of a three-game divisional series on Saturday afternoon. The Reds will have Andrew Abbott on the hill. The Cardinals will counter with Miles Mikolas. The season series is 2-2.

The rookie left-hander is one of the Reds' top prospects. Abbott reported a 2.50 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP accompanied by a 4-0 record in 54 innings in the minor leagues this season and has a 3.45 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP in his minor league career 

Cincinnati is a young squad that is definitely making progress toward becoming a contender. They have several young hitters already producing and recently promoted Elly De La Cruz who is considered one of the top prospects in all of baseball. The Reds won two of three to the Dodgers this week, scoring 17 runs in the series, and are 5-5 in their last ten clashes.

Kevin Newman has been batting in the leadoff spot recently and is having success. The 29-year-old shortstop has his average up to .270 along with 19 RBIs and a .703 OPS. Newman had a big series against the Cardinals a few weeks ago, amassing three RBIs in three games. Nick Senzel is on the IL.

Cincinnati is posting an average of 4.60 runs per game, ranking them 12th. The pitching staff has recorded a 5.04 team ERA, pegging them 27th.
