The Las Vegas Raiders entered last season with high expectations, but they ended up just 6-11, including a dismal 2-7 on the road. That was the 2nd-worst road mark in the AFC, but thankfully Vegas had the Denver Broncos to keep it from falling into the basement of the AFC West.

The Raiders switched gears late in the season, pulling the plug on the QB Derek Carr experiment. He was demoted late in the season, he left the team, and was subsequently released in the offseason, landing in New Orleans. The team brought in QB Jimmy Garoppolo as his new successor, while also adding QB Brian Hoyer as the backup.

The wide receivers room gets a complete makeover, too, with DeAndre Carter, Keelan Cole, Phillip Dorsett, Jakobi Meyers and Cam Sims joining WR Davante Adams, as well as TEs'Austin Hooper and O.J. Howard. Those 2 will join TE Michael Mayer, the 35th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Notre Dame, in a revamped tight ends room.

The secondary got a facelift, too, as the Silver and Black added CB Brandon Facyson, S Marcus Epps, CB David Long Jr. and CB Duke Shelley, while helping the D by re-signing S Roderic Teamer and DT Jerry Tillery, too, while nabbing LB Tyree Wilson at No. 7 overall from Texas Tech.
