The Kent State Golden Flashes will be on the road in Seattle, WA for a week one matchup with the Washington Huskies. Kent State finished the 2021 campaign an even 7-7 after a 14 point loss to Wyoming in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. Defensively Kent State struggled as Wyoming accumulated 538 total yards of offense including 411 on the ground to score 52 points in the game.
The Kent State offense was stellar as well scoring 38 points on 656 yards. Dustin Crum led the way for the Golden Flashes completing 17 of 27 passes for 316 yards and four touchdowns. Marquez Cooper led the way on the ground for Kent State with 125 yards on 24 carries and Brian Bradford chipped in 109 yards on 8 carries as well.
The Washington Huskies open the 2022 regular season looking to bounce back after an abysmal 4-8 season a year ago that concluded with a four-game losing streak after a 27 point loss to Washington State in the final game of the year. Defensively Washington was dominated giving up 50 points on 454 total yards of offense from Washington State.
