The Houston Astros (20-18, 19-19 RL, 19-18-1 O/U) and the Chicago White Sox (13-27, 17-23 RL, 21-16-3 O/U) conclude a three-game series on Sunday afternoon. The Astros give the starting nod to Hunter Brown. The White Sox will have Lucas Giolito on the hill. The Astros collected a 5-1 win in the series opener and currently lead the series 3-2.
The Astros will have Hunter Brown on the mound on Sunday. Brown is looking to rebound from his worst outing of the season, conceding four runs on nine hits in 4.1 innings against the Angels, and was able to escape with a no-decision. The young right-hander has been inconsistent at times but is carrying a solid 3.23 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP complemented by a 3-1 record in 39 innings pitched. Brown has only allowed one home run this season.
Houston is concluding a long nine-game road trip in this one. They haven’t quite been at their best, losing two of three to the Mariners, and rebounded by winning two of three against the Angels prior to this series. The bats have been kept in check, scoring four or fewer runs in three of their last four decisions entering Saturday.
