Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Florida Panthers Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 5-10-2023

The Toronto Maple Leafs face the Florida Panthers in Game Four of the Second Round in what's been a one-sided series thus far. The Maple Leafs have lost the first three games of this series and one more loss will have them eliminated from the playoffs. The Panthers have a commanding 3-0 series lead and could sweep the series with a win on their home ice. The Maple Leafs look to keep their season alive while the Panthers hope to advance to the Eastern Conference Final and Game Four should be a great one.

The Maple Leafs have looked hapless in the Second Round with their offense letting them down, scoring only six goals in the first three games. Auston Matthews and Ryan O'Reilly have scored a goal and three assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has struggled. The hope is that William Nylander and Mitch Marner step up as they scored 70 goals and 116 assists this season but only two assists in this series.

The offense has let the Maple Leafs down but the defense has also struggled, allowing 10 goals. Morgan Rielly, Jake McCabe, and T.J. Brodie have led the top two pairings but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing the Panthers to find open shots on the net at will. Additionally, goaltender Ilya Samsonov was knocked out of Game Three with an injury and the team will have to turn to backup Joseph Woll with their season on the line.
