Vegas Golden Knights vs. Edmonton Oilers Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 5-8-2023

The Vegas Golden Knights face the Edmonton Oilers in Game Three of the Second Round in a series tied at one win so far. The Golden Knights took Game One 6-4 but stumbled in Game Two and hope to bounce back in the upcoming game. The Oilers dropped the series opener but bounced back with a dominant 5-1 win and evened up the series. The winner of Game Three will take a 2-1 series lead and the upcoming game looks to be a great one as a result.

The Golden Knights have been carried by their offense, scoring six goals in Game One but the offense fell flat in the recent game, scoring only one goal in the loss. Ivan Barbashev, Jack Eichel, and Mark Stone have scored five goals and three assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has struggled. The hope is that Alex Pietrangelo can step up as he added 11 goals and 43 assists from the point this season but only has one assist in the Second Round.

The offense hopes to step up but the defense has been awful in this series, allowing nine goals. Alec Martinez, Alex Pietrangelo, and Shea Theodore have led the top two pairings but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing the Oilers to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Laurent Brossoit has struggled, allowing nine goals on 59 shots, and was replaced in Game Two in the third period.
