The New Jersey Devils face the Carolina Hurricanes in Game Two of the Second Round. The Devils fell flat in the first game and lost 5-1 and are eager to bounce back in the upcoming game. The Hurricanes stepped up on their home ice and controlled Game One from start to finish with dominant play in all facets of the game. The Devils are looking to even up the series while the Hurricanes hope to take a commanding 2-0 series lead and Game Two should be a great one as a result.

The Devils struggled offensively throughout the First Round, scoring only 17 goals, and those struggles continued in Game One as they only scored one goal in the defeat. Dougie Hamilton and Jonas Seigenthaler led the top pairing but the rest of the unit struggled, allowing the Hurricanes to create scoring chances at will. Additionally, Akira Schmid struggled in the game, allowing three goals on only 11 shots a nd he was replaced by Vitek Vanecek, who looks to be the starter for the rest of the series.
