The Seattle Kraken face the Dallas Stars in Game One of the Second Round. The Kraken were one of the wild card teams in the Western Conference but upset the Colorado Avalanche in a seven-game series to win their first series in franchise history. The Stars won three games in a row in the First Round to win the series in six games and advance to the Second Round. Both teams are looking to win Game One and move one step closer to the Western Conference Final and the upcoming game should be a great one.

The Kraken pull off the upset in the First Round but hope the offense can improve, scoring only 18 goals in the series with only three goals in the last two games. Yanni Gourde and Jaden Schwartz scored three goals and eight assists while defenseman Justin Schultz added a goal and four assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. The hope is that Jordan Eberle and Matthew Beniers can step up as they play a pivotal role in the forward unit but only scored two goals and two assists in the First Round.

The offense struggled but the defense willed the Kraken to an upset, allowing only 19 goals including only nine goals in the final four games. Adam Larsson and Vince Dunn led the top pairing while Carson Soucy, Jamie Oleksiak, and Justin Schultz added depth to the unit, creating turnovers in all three zones and limiting shooting lanes. Additionally, goaltender Philipp Grubauer was remarkable in the First Round with a .926 save percentage and a 2.44 goals-against average on 231 shots with 4.7 goals saved above average.
