Minnesota Wild (46-25-11) vs. Dallas Stars (47-21-14)

The 2023 Stanley Cup is in full swing and the betting action continues Tuesday, April 25, with the Minnesota Wild facing off against the Dallas Stars in Game 5 of the Western Conference first-round series.

After splitting the first four games, the Wild head to American Airlines Center in Dallas as +125 moneyline underdogs. The Stars are listed as -138 home favorites, while the totals sit at 5.5 goals.

The Minnesota Wild suffered a 3-2 defeat this past Sunday, allowing the Dallas Stars to tie the series at two games apiece. The Wild outshot the Stars 34-24 and ultimately blew a nice opportunity to push their rivals to the brink of elimination. John Klingberg and Frederick Gaudreau scored for the Wild, who had 11 takeaways and went 1-for-4 with the man advantage.

“We got chances. We played the right way. We didn’t get rewarded tonight, and you can make your evaluation of why we didn’t get rewarded tonight,” Wild coach Dean Evason said. “But we didn’t. If we play like that, we will get rewarded.”

Filip Gustavsson posted 21 saves in Game 4, and the 24-year-old netminder is now 2-1-0 with a 1.72 GAA and .941 save percentage this postseason. He had 51 saves in a 3-2 double-overtime victory in Game 1 and 23 stops in a 5-1 thrashing of Dallas in Game 3, while Marc-Andre Fleury yielded seven goals on 31 shots in a 7-3 loss in Game 2.

Gustavsson enjoyed a wonderful regular season, going 22-9-7 with an excellent 2.10 GAA, a .931 save percentage, and three shutouts. Minnesota ranked sixth in the NHL in goals against (2.67 per game) and 23rd in goals for (2.91). Kirill Kaprizov led the way for the Wild with 40 goals and 35 assists across 67 contests, and the 25-year-old winger has only scored one goal over the previous four games against Dallas. < /p>
