Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 4-23-2023

The New York Yankees (13-8) will host the Toronto Blue Jays (12-9) in the finale of their three-game series on Sunday. The Blue Jays beat the Yankees 6-1 on Friday, and New York bounced back with a walk-off win on Saturday 3-2.

The Blue Jays got a strong outing from Alek Manoah on Saturday, as the 6'6 right-hander allowed just two hits in seven scoreless innings. Down 2-0, the Blue Jays tied the game in the top of the ninth inning with a two-run blast from catcher Danny Jansen. Unfortunately, the Yankees would get the last laugh in the bottom of the ninth. Toronto is now fourth in a tough AL East division where all five teams have a winning record.

Kevin Gausman (1-2, 3.65 ERA, 1.18 WHIP) will start on Sunday for Toronto. The Blue Jays are 2-2 in Gausman's starts this season, and he was drilled for eight runs in 4.2 innings against the Astros this past Monday. Gausman has appeared in 272 career games and gone 77-84 with a 3.93 ERA. Against the Yankees all-time Gausman is 8-7 with a 3.49 ERA in 27 outings, including 1-1 with a 1.89 ERA in the starts last season.
