Second-year head coach Clark Lea and his Vanderbilt Commodores will cap off Week 0 Saturday night as they square off against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors on the island.
Things have been less than ideal for quite a while at Vanderbilt, including last season, when it finished 2-10. But Lea is in the middle of a massive rebuild, and while it didn’t win much, Vandy outperformed expectations on multiple occasions.
The Commodores aren’t going to win the SEC East, but Lea has his team on the right track.
His squad returns quarterback Mike Wright and a talented group of running backs. Vandy also brings bacl seven players on the defensive side of the ball, including its top four tacklers from last season.
