Pete Alonso drove in four runs in the victory by way of a two-run homer in the fourth inning and a two-run single in the seventh inning that put the Mets up 8-4. Alonso is off to a MVP caliber start to the season leading MLB with 19 home runs and ranking fourth with 19 RBI.
Breaking: Mets pitcher Max Scherzer was suspended for 10 games by MLB following his ejection for having a foreign substance on his hand.
Scherzer appealed the penalty and can continue to play until the appeal is decided.

On Saturday, the Mets are expected to start David Peterson (1-2, 6.10 ERA, 1.65 WHIP). Peterson allowed six earned runs and three home runs in an 8-6 victory over the Dodgers on Monday.
