San Francisco Giants vs. Miami Marlins Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 4-19-2023

The Miami Marlins (9-8) will host the San Francisco Giants (5-10) in an early Wednesday. Miami won the opening game of this series 4-3 on Monday, and Tuesday's contests was not complete at the time of this preview.

There's a lot of baseball left this season, but the 2023 campaign has not started well for the Giants. San Francisco went into Tuesday night on a four-game losing streak, with two of those losses coming against the Detroit Tigers. Despite the losing record, the offensive power has been there for the Giants who are third in MLB hammering 1.7 home runs per game, and 15th averaging 4.8 runs per game. The Giants have nine players who have hit at least two home runs this season, led by J.D. Davis with four home runs and 13 RBI.

The pitching for San Francisco has a 4.38 ERA which is 16th in MLB, and the defense has not helped much ranking 20th with -3 runs saved this season. The bullpen has also been terrible ranking 27th with a 5.93 ERA. On Wednesday, the Giants are scheduled to start Alex Cobb (0-1, 3.14 ERA, 1.47 WHIP). Cobb allowed eight hits and two runs in 3.2 innings, and did not get the decision in a 10-5 loss to the Dodgers last Wednesday.
