On the other side of this matchup is the A’s who sit with a 46-81 record overall and they have lost the first two games of this series against the Yankees. On Thursday the pitching was a big issue giving up 13 runs. The A’s offense has been a big issue this season averaging 3.35 runs per game which is 29th in the league. Sean Murphy has hit 16 home runs and driven in 53 RBIs.
