I am 9-3 with my picks for Pickswise since this column began last week, so let’s try to build on that great start with 3 picks for Thursday’s Major League Baseball schedule.
Today I am looking primarily at the American League East, where the Tampa Bay Rays are undefeated and both the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox are trying to keep up. I will turn my attention to the National League, as well, for 1 of my plays.

Boston Red Sox +1.5 over Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays try and continue their path to history, while the Red Sox try and avoid being swept. The Red Sox may just have the pitcher to hand the Rays their first loss of the season. Corey Kluber has had a very solid track record at Tropicana Field throughout his career. In 2022 — as a member of Tampa Bay — he went 7-3 with a 3.71 ERA and struck out 77 batters in 87.1 innings. Throughout his career at the Trop he has struck out 122 batters in 120.2 innings. That's a 9.1 strikeout/9 innings ratio. He also has limited opponents at that ballpark to a .297 on-base percentage, a .386 slugging percentage and only allowed just 12 home runs in those same 120.2 innings while walking just 18 batters.
