Pete Carroll became the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks on January 11, 2010. He's been coaching there ever since and is presently the fourth-longest tenured coach in the NFL.

For Pete Carroll, USC had little left to offer him by the time the 2009 season ended. He had already won multiple national championships and established himself as one of the clear coaches of the decade in college football.

The NFL has a long history of luring successful college coaches to the professional game. Many of the hires, like Matt Rhule and Nick Saban, do not work out.'

Prior to his long run in Seattle, it seemed like that list might include Pete Carroll. Patriots fans will tell you that his three-year run in New England as Bill Parcells' replacement was not particularly impressive.'
