Kim Mulkey played point guard at Louisiana Tech from 1980-84. Her team went to the Final Four all four years she was there.'
As a player, Mulkey and her team won the AIAW national championship in 1981. One year later, the NCAA held its first women's college basketball tournament, which Louisiana Tech also won.
Mulkey also won an Olympic gold medal in 1984.
After graduating from Louisiana Tech, Mulkey spent 15 more years as an assistant coach at Louisiana Tech, from 1985-2000. Louisiana Tech won another national championship in 1988.
