MLB pick today: Boston Red Sox ML over Detroit Tigers (-145), 1:10 pm ET

Heading into this afternoon's game, the Tigers rank in the bottom 3 in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage and OPS. Riley Greene and Matt Vierling have led the team, as each hitter has above a .300 average after 5 games. But they are the only hitters on the team hitting above .300, as key members in the order like Jonathan Schoop, Austin Meadows, Spencer Torkelson, and especially Javier Baez, have struggled at the start of the season.

The Detroit lineup is completely outmatched by Boston's, which has Rafael Devers, Adam Duvall and Alex Verdugo hitting the cover off the ball right now. It's hard to get a read on this pitching matchup which makes me lean toward the better offense, and that's the Red Sox.
