The Vegas Golden Knights face the Nashville Predators with both teams looking to build off of strong seasons. The Golden Knights have a 48-22-7 record and with back-to-back wins, they are in first place in the Pacific Division while the Predators have a 38-30-8 record and are on the outside of the playoff picture looking in. Both teams look to improve in the Western Conference standings in the final few games and the upcoming game should be a good one.
The Golden Knights are having a great season with their offense leading the way, scoring 3.28 goals per game. Jack Eichel, Chandler Stephenson, and Jonathan Marchessault have scored 67 goals and 108 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Reilly Smith, William Karlsson, and Phil Kessel have combined for 51 goals and 82 assists while defensemen Shea Theodore and Alex Pietrangelo have added 17 goals and 74 assists from the point to open up the offense.
The offense has been great but the defense has also stepped up, allowing only 2.82 goals per game. Alec Martinez and Brayden McNabb have combined for 8.7 defensive point shares and 412 blocked shots while Sheat Theodore, Alex Pietrangelo, and Nicolas Hague have combined for 7.5 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. The hope is that goaltender Jonathan Quick can step up as he has a .896 save perc entage and a 3.53 goals-against average on 230 shots since being acquired at the trade deadline.
