The Columbus Blue Jackets face the Anaheim Ducks with both teams looking to improve on awful seasons. The Blue Jackets have a 21-38-7 record and are in last place in the Eastern Conference while the Ducks have a 22-36-10 record and have the second-worst record in the Pacific Division. Both teams look to climb out of the bottom of the NHL standings and look to end the season on a high note and the upcoming game should be a good one.

The Blue Jackets are having a rough season with their offense struggling and scoring only 2.64 goals per game. Johnny Gaudreau, Boone Jenner, and Patrik Laine have scored 60 goals and 87 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only six active skaters have scored 10 goals or more and opponents can eliminate the hapless offense as a result.

The offense has struggled but the defense has let the Blue Jackets down, allowing 3.76 goals per game. Erik Gudbranson and Andrew Peeke have combined for 3.5 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Michael Hutchinson has struggled with a .873 save percentage and a 4.36 goals-against average on 79 shots.
