The New York Rangers face the Pittsburgh Penguins with both teams looking to build off of great seasons. The Rangers have a 37-19-9 record and are in third place in the Metropolitan Division while the Penguins have a 33-22-10 record and hold the top spot in the wild card race in the Eastern Conference. Both teams look to improve their playoff position and the upcoming game should be a great one.

The Rangers are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.27 goals per game. Artemi Panarin, Mika Zibanejad, and Vincent Trocheck have scored 70 goals and 118 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has stepped up as well. Chris Kreider, Filip Chytil, and Alexis Lafreniere have combined for 60 goals and 53 assists while defensemen Adam Fox and K'Andre Miller have added 16 goals and 72 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has carried the Rangers, allowing only 2.81 goals per game including only four goals in the last two games. Adam Fox and Ryan Lindgren have combined for 9.2 defensive point shares and 176 blocked shots while K'Andre Miller, Braden Schneider, and Jacob Trouba have combined for 8.4 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Igor Shesterkin has been great with a .908 save percentage and a 2.67 goals-against average on 1342 shots with 4.3 goals saved above average.
