Dallas comes in off an emphatic 10-4 demolition of the Sabres on the road Thursday night in their previous game. Seattle fell 5-4 at home to Ottawa Thursday night in their most recent contest. These teams have met just three times since the Kraken joined the league with the Stars owning a 2-1 advantage. That includes a 3-2 home victory in the most recent meeting on April 23, 2022.

Dallas struggled a bit defensively on the road against Buffalo Thursday night but their offensive firepower more than made up for it in the contest as they earned their fourth win in five games. The Stars entered Friday 35-17-13 on the season, putting them atop the standings in the Central Division by two points over Minnesota. Dallas stands 7th in the league in goals per game as they average 3.40 goals per contest on the year. The Stars stand 6th in the league in goals against as they allow an average of 2.65 goals a night this season. Dallas is 8th when it comes to success on the power play as they convert on 23.1% of their chances with the man advantage this season. The Stars are 4th in penalty killing as they successfully navigate 83.3% of their shorthanded situations on the year.

Against Buffalo, it was an onslaught of offense that carried them to the victory on the road Thursday night. Dallas held a 16-9 advantage in shots on goal in the opening 20 minutes and led 3-1 on the scoreboard after the first period. Wyatt Johnston opened the scoring with his 16th goal of the season at 7:06 off assists from Jani Hakanpaa and Evgenii Dadonov. Joe Pavelski made it 2-0 with a power play goal, his 16th of the year, at 19:07 off assists from Jason Robertson and Jamie Benn. Only 18 seconds later, at 19:25, Benn made it a 3-0 game with his 27th of the year with assists going to Miro Heiskanen and Ryan Suter. The Stars gave up a goal 10 seconds later, narrowing the margin to two, as fans saw three goals in 28 seconds in the final minute of the stanza. Dallas owned an 18-5 advantage in shots on goal in the second period and outscored Buffalo 2-1 to take a 5-2 lead after two periods. Joel Kiviranta made it 4-1 at 8:37 off assists from Robertson and Joel Hanley. After the Sabres scored to make it a two-goal game, Suter scored his second of the year at 10:38 with assists going to Mason Marchment and Ty Dellandrea to restore their three-goal advantage.

The third period saw Dallas pour it on offensively as they saw the shots even at 15 but they outscored Buffalo 5-2 to put the game away. After Buffalo made it 5-3, Dadonov made it a 6-3 game with his sixth of the year at 9:12 off assists from Benn and Hakanpaa. Only 29 seconds later, Radek Faksa netted his ninth of the season at 9:41 off assists from Max Domi and Kiviranta for a 7-3 advantage. Less than two minutes later, Faksa tallied his second of the night and 10th of the season at 11:38 with Marchment drawing the lone assist for an 8-3 lead. Only 37 seconds later, Roope Hintz extended to a 9-3 margin with his 31st goal of the year as Robertson and Pavelski drew the assists. After Buffalo tallied to make it 9-4, Marchment closed the scoring with his 11th goal of the year off assists from Heiskanen and Colin Miller at 16:12 of the stanza. Jake Oettinger made 25 saves for the Stars, who held a 49-29 advantage in shots on goal, in the win. He is expected to be in goal again here.
