The Edmonton Oilers continue their road trip with a chance to put a dent into the Bruins' record-setting season on Thursday night. The Oilers are playing well, with a 7-2-1 stretch in the last ten games. On Monday night, Connor McDavid continued his quest for the MVP by picking up two more goals in a 3-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres in Buffalo. McDavid now has an NHL-leading 54 goals and 124 points, a new career high. McDavid has now scored 12 goals and added 15 assists during his current 11-game point streak.

“The finish was all-world,” Oilers head coach Jay Woodcroft said of McDavid scoring the go-ahead goal on the fly by beating Craig Anderson through the legs 3:23 into the third period, and less than two minutes after the Sabres tied the game at 2.

“I saw someone that was competitive right from the puck right from the puck drop,” he added. “Connor&#x2019 ;s at a different evolutionary stage in his game right now, and I think everyone saw that here tonight.”

The Oilers are in sixth place in the Western Conference and are just a point behind Seattle for fifth place. The Oilers come in with one of the best offenses in the NHL. They are first in goals per game this season and second in shooting percentage. Edmonton is also first in power play percentage. On the defensive end, the Oilers are just 21st in goals against average and just 24th in the league in penalty kills.

Key Injuries: LW Evander Kane is day-to-day.
