Utah Jazz vs. Orlando Magic Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 3-9-2023

The Orlando Magic try to keep pace in the Eastern Conference playoff race Thursday as they host the Utah Jazz. The Magic are 27-39 on the season while the Jazz are 31-35. The Jazz beat the Magic in Utah 112-108 back in January. Tipoff is at 7:00 p.m. EST at the Amway Center in Orlando.

The Utah Jazz have fallen out of the top 10 in the Western Conference playoff race, as they have lost 4 straight to drop to 31-35. But the good news is they are only a half game behind New Orleans, Oklahoma City, and Portland, who are all 31-34 and tied for 10th place. They are coming off a 120-116 loss at Dallas on Tuesday. The hung tough with the Mavericks, and covered as an 11 point underdog. But ultimately, it wasn't enough as they fell short.

All star Lauri Markkanen had 33 points and 6 rebounds to lead Utah. Markannen is averaging 25.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Talen Horton Tucker added 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists while Kelly Olynyk tossed in 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. The Jazz average 117 points per game, which ranks 7th in the league. They also give up 117 points per game, which ranks 22nd in the league. They played without Jordan Clarkson and Walker Kessler, who are questionable for Thursday. Collin Sexton is out until mid-March.
